When Memories Matter

Good Day All,

This is a photo of my father.  He is 93 and although he is still going strong, that dreaded day will be upon us sooner than we want.

Whenever I asked to take a portrait of him, he refused.  For whatever reason, he didn't want his photo taken.  So I tricked him one day.  I told him that I wanted to show him what I do so he would understand.  I asked him to stand by the window and used a reflector to open up the shadows.  I showed him the back of the camera and he was quite impressed, but still refused to have his portrait made.  So I used what I had.

Dad will not be with us for much longer and I wanted a portrait of him as he is now.  Something I could proudly hang of a wall to remember him.  He is and always will be a good, caring man.  I wanted to preserve that.

This is why we have portraits made.  To remember and charish the people who have touched our lives.

Memories Matter.
